Kelly Kennedy has found herself on a life long mission to ignite imagination and inspire children to believe in themselves. Kelly feels passionate about this sense of belonging and acceptance, that all children deserve, being encouraged from a young age. 

'It's sad to think that from day dot we are compared to others. It is no wonder most of us grow up with a sense of not being good enough. I am passionate about children knowing they are not alone, they are not in competition with each other, and they are all important, special, beautiful beings, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, and capabilities. I think we can help children grow up with a sense of acceptance and belonging by embracing our unique differences'

Kelly has been collaborating on this project with local artist Darren Goddard, she says, 'Darren's illustrations were just perfect, and like me, he is a true believer in promoting confidence, understanding, and acceptance in young children. Darren has written and published several books himself, which are fabulous. It's been such a pleasure having Darren on board with this. I couldn't be happier with the illustrations, they really bring the Dylan character and story alive'

Kelly has now brought her stories to life with the dog tales series. These imaginative tales aim to foster a sense of belonging, promote understanding, and encourage empathy among young readers. With colourful illustrations and heartfelt narratives, her picture books strive to make a difference in the lives of children worldwide.
